Main Parts of Model School Building

(A) Size of the school building- The outline of the construction of the school building should always be prepared keeping in mind the educational point of view. It is rightly said by a scholar that in the planning and construction of school building. mixed talents of educationists, sociologists, architects, artists, engineers, health science experts and economists are required. The cooperation of experts should be taken in preparing its ‘blue print’. It should always be kept in mind that the school is neither being built for the past nor for the present, but it will be built for the future. The size and type of the school building should be decided with the help of skilled engineers. English (‘E’) shaped school building form is often considered to be the best model and this should be the main patronage. Apart from this (‘H’, ‘L’,’T’,’U’,) and T shaped buildings are also considered good. Light comes into each room of the figure ‘E’. (I) Teacher’s room – There should be a provision of teacher’s room in the school for the purpose of revision of copies of students and rest of teachers etc. The teacher’s room should have a large table and alternate number of chairs around it. (J) Other construction- 1. If there is a residential school, the hostel surrounded on all sides will be constructed according to the number of students. The hostel should be near the school. 2.
